APICS UIUC Team Ties for 2nd Place at Regional Case Competition
Mark Gittings, President of the APICS Central Illinois Chapter, reports that the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign team did very well at the recent case competition for APICS student chapters held in Downers Grove. The team was one of 23, mostly from the Great Lakes Region (Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana) but from as far away as the University of Houston in Texas. The UIUC team tied for 2nd Place, just one judging point out of 1st place.
The teams were judged on the strengths of both their written and oral presentations. Mark felt that the UIUC team “presentation was the best in a year when the overall quality of the presentations was better than ever. ” He commented that their Power Point was well done and that the team members did a good job of presenting their recommendations.
All the members of the APICS Central Illinois Chapter extend their warmest congratulations to the student members of the UIUC case competition team. Their success in the competition bodes well for their futures as Supply Chain Management professionals and speaks well of the education they are receiving through the Supply Chain Management program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
